The Reverend Tommy Thompson, from Nashville, TN, comes to
us from Rock Spring UMC on the Charlottesville District
where he served as pastor from 2007-2010. Prior to Rock
Spring, Pastor Tommy served parishes in Tennessee, Kentucky,
and West Virginia.
Pastor Tommy graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University
in Nashville with a Bachelors degree in Religion/Pastoral Ministries.
Following Trevecca, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary in
Kentucky where he earned his M.Div. Rev. Thompson was ordained in
2006 in the Church of the Nazarene and at this year’s annual
conference was accepted as a full member of the Virginia Annual Conference.
Rev. Thompson is married to his college sweetheart,
Leslie Ragland and they have two children, Daniel (9),
and Hannah Grace (5). Tommy and Leslie are soon to celebrate
their ten-year wedding anniversary!
Pastor Tommy shares a deep love for the sacramental life of the
church, theology, music of various genres, coffee, sports
(particularly cycling), and simply living life to the fullest.
He looks forward to living in community with God’s people at Grace in Parksley.
